Today is a good day…

With the kind of year I’ve had, and the never-ending run of bad luck that seems to be following me, I thought it was going to take an awful lot to make me smile properly again. What it DID take was a very special person and a very memorable 24 hours.

Sometimes some of us are lucky enough to have a chance encounter with a beautiful person (inside as well as out) and when we do, it changes us – sometimes in a small way, and sometimes the change can be so profound that you can forget what life was like before hand.

This week I have been lucky enough to meet one of those beautiful people. Someone who talks but also listens. Someone who asks and answers. Someone whose face lights up when they smile, and it warms the whole room. Someone who is so gentle that it actually made me cry!

It’s amazing to have my faith in men restored and it will take an awful lot of “real life” to wipe this dreamy smile off my face anytime soon.

A Smile…

A smile is such a simple thing,
And in its very own way,
It adds a touch of happiness,
To any kind of day,
A smile can take the darkest day,
And turn it inside out,
A smile is just the beginning,
Of what love is all about,
A smile is like a little seed,
That starts a friendship growing,
A smile is such a simple thing,
For someone, well worth knowing,
Heaven and earth seem closer,
For at least a little while,
When two people are drawn together,
In exchanging just a smile………

  2. I don’t know what your problem is, but I bet it’s hard to pronounce
  3. How about never? Is never any good for you?
  4. I see you’ve set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public
  5. I’m really easy to get along with once people learn to see it my way
  6. I’ll try being nicer if you’ll start being smarter
  7. I’m out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message
  8. I don’t work here, I’m a consultant
  9. It sounds like English, but I can’t understand a word you’re saying
  10. Ahhh…I see the screw-up fairy has visited us again!
  11. I like you! You remind me of myself when I was young and stupid
  12. You are validating my inherent mistrust of strangers
  13. I have plenty of talent and vision; I just don’t give a damn
  14. I’m already visualising the duct tape over your mouth
  15. I’m not being rude, you’re just insignificant
  16. Yes, I AM an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial
  17. And your cry-baby, whiney-assed opinion would be…?
  18. Sarcasm is just one more service I offer
  19. If I throw a stick, will you leave?
  20. Errors have been made. Others will be blamed!
  21. Too many freaks, too few circuses
  22. Nice perfume – must you marinate in it?
  23. Chaos, panic and disorder – my work here is done!
  24. I thought I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted a salary
  25. Who lit the fuse on your tampon?

I wouldn’t advise the last one – EVER!!
